Configuring your terminal for NMI

Background
Before starting this tutorial, make sure you understand the following topics from the Quick start section:

In order to process a card present transaction with a terminal through NMI, you need to set up your terminal and then register it either with the iframe or with the API.

Setting up your terminal for registration

After you have completed these steps once, you do not need to complete them again unless you are having network connectivity problems.

  1. Power on the terminal.
  2. Enter 0 0 0 1 to access the Admin menu.
  3. Use the F2 and F3 function keys to select Communication Type>WIFI to enable the Wi-Fi connection. Press the yellow key to navigate back to the Admin menu.
  4. In the Admin menu, select WIFI Parameters>Scan Networks to search for nearby networks.
    After scanning, the terminal displays a list of available networks.
  5. Choose the Wi-Fi network to use and enter the network password. After the terminal connects a "New Profile OK" message displays and the system returns you to the Admin menu.
  6. Use the yellow (back) key to return to the ready screen.
    When successfully connected to the Wi-Fi network, the terminal display shows both the device serial number and the registration code.
    If the terminal does not display a registration code, you may need to force a restart by simultaneously holding down the yellow key and the .,#* key (located to the left of the green circle key).

You have successfully set up your terminal. Now that your terminal is connected to the internet, you register it.
